Prime Time is a classic startup, yet very different; from the beginning we worked with big fish like Microsoft and Intel.

We, Mesut and Şenol Güngör, were inspired in July 2002 by Bill Gates’ idea to put a so-called media centre in every living room, a device that makes all other entertainment devices in the living room superfluous and also retains all the functions of a PC.

As early as September 2002, we developed a working prototype in our living room. We sent it to Microsoft Switzerland and they could not believe their eyes; at that time this operating system together with the hardware could not even run in Switzerland! OUR modifications and improvements, however, had made it possible! They verified our prototype and that was the birth of the first Swiss Windows Media Center, the coolest, most user-friendly and technologically significant in-room entertainment system.

Since Microsoft only works with companies, we couldn’t avoid founding a company. Finally, the time had come! On the day of the foundation in spring 2004, on the way to the notary’s office, we literally stepped onto the ice, which almost broke our necks. But we survived and with us our baby “Prime Time Media Entertainment GmbH” and later “Prime Time AG”, our small but fine family business. As young entrepreneurs alongside the giants Fujitsu-Siemens and Toshiba, we introduced the Media Center in Switzerland in October 2004 together with Microsoft Switzerland and started selling online. Our motto is always: keep it simple – one device with one remote control for all media throughout the house. This is still our successful model today, 18 years later.

With years of experience and dedication to technology, we are revolutionising the hospitality TV market. This benefits the managers of the most diverse accommodations as well as their customers and guests.

We quickly realised that it makes more sense to bring Media Center hardware and Media Center software under one hat and so we started to develop our Media Center software “Prime Time TV”. This allows you to receive over 300 channels from 43 different countries. Our products bore fruit and so in 2006 we received the award “Best Media Center” from Microsoft for the model “X-Vision” (Media Center Award 2006 awarded – – kleinreport.ch)

We continued to develop this product in the following years.

There are many good reasons for Prime Time:

In 2011, we introduced IPTV, which allows people to watch TV via the Internet. Three years later, we launched the project Turkish and Kurdish TV channels via IPTV, Canaksiz TV, which is offered via an HDMI stick. This was a milestone in our company’s history and still enjoys great popularity in the Turkish and Kurdish community. During that year, the offer was extended to other ethnic groups.

As far as our competition and partners are concerned, we are always ahead of the times and permanently in the fast lane; we identify potential products, their development and establishment in a rush. Today, our absolute strength and core business is hospitality TV in the areas of health, hotels, retirement homes and much more. Thanks to the highest head-end redundancies and a multi-secured network of line suppliers, PrimeTime has the lowest failure rate in Switzerland.

Our heart and soul is in the company but the satisfaction of our customers comes first.

We live our product.
